Shout-out to Pastor Welton Pleasant and the Christ Second Baptist Church of Long Beach (CA). It was an honor to preach their 105th church anniversary Wednesday night, as my father once served as their pastor.
I attended the 23rd WHW Expository Preaching Conference. This conference was a great help to me as a young preacher. The conference president, Dr. R.A. Williams Jr., had a great profound influence on me toward expository preaching. It was a joy to hear him preach again.

Friday, I attended the funeral of Dr. William Brent Sr., who served the Evening Star Baptist Church of Los Angeles for 14 years. He was a faithful servant of God and dear friend of my father’s.
