  • Today was Missions Emphasis Day at Shiloh.

It was a good day, which capped off a good week.

Praise God for the one who was baptized today.

As always, it was great to have our guests in worship with us today.

I met Michael Eric Dyson today. I have read most of his books. It was cool to meet him in person.

Our women’s chorus, under the leadership of M. White, did a great job today, leading us in musical praise.

Dr. Hensworth W.C. Jonas was our guest speaker today. He is the leader of the East Caribbean Baptist Mission. He is also the author of Dancing With Idolatry.

Dr. Jonas preached two powerful messages today. And he taught on Christian Missions during our Bible Study Fellowship hour.

I have preached for Dr. Jonas several times Antigua and Barbuda, where he is doing a great work. I hope our congregations will be able to partner together to plant more churches near Antigua.

Praise God for those who were saved and added to the church today.

Next Sunday is the first Sunday. Can’t wait!

The USC Trojans had the week off. But we will continue our winning ways Thursday against Utah.

Alabama is still the unanimous #1 team. LSU slips again in the polls to #4.

The Jacksonville Jaguars fell to the Cincinnati Bengals 27-10, in spite of the stirring message I delivered in the chapel service Saturday night.

Pastor A. Letson took Dr. Jonas to the Jags game today. I hope it did not negative shape his opinion of our fair city.

The Dallas Cowboys will definitely beat the Chicago Bears tomorrow night. I think.

The Jets look bad. The Saints are 0-4. Who said losing their coach wouldn’t matter? Houston looks good. Denver had a good rebound win. The Patriots whipped the Bills in the second half. The Seahawks couldn’t pull off a magic ending two weeks in a row.

Did you notice that the NFL refs weren’t in the news this weekend? We may give them another week before we start complaining about them.

The New York Yankees will definitely win their tight division race. I think.

There was a great triple-header boxing card Saturday night on HBO. Didn’t know any of the fighters. But it was great action nonetheless.

Apparently, America lost some big golf tournament today in dramatic fashion.
