  • safe_image.php_This weekend, we began our Men’s Discipleship Fellowship with 33 The Series: Authentic Manhood (Part 3). My wife, Crystal, began a Women’s Discipleship Fellowship on “The Life-Ready Women.” We got off to a good start.

Between our two services, I had a session with a Bible Study Fellowship teachers in preparation for the upcoming semester. I pray much fruit will come from our studying through The Master’s Plan of the Church by John MacArthur

Thankful for our guests in worship. And I was glad to have the opportunity to pray for our Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Nicholai Vitti.

I finished the book of Daniel with a message from chapter 12 that I called, “Living with Unanswered Questions.”

What should you do when you are forced to live with unanswered questions?

    1. Trust that God will keep his people (12:1-4)
    2. Trust that God will keep his promises (12:5-13)

Daniel has been a challenging study for me. Narrative texts are not my strength. The Apocalyptic Literature only made it all the more difficult. But I am glad I pressed through. And I trust the congregation was helped by the reminder of God’s sovereignty no matter what the culture does. And I pray we will be faithful to God in the mist of a hostile society.

I plan to begin a series next on the Lord’s Letters to the Seven Churches in Revelation 2-3.

Praise God for those who were saved and added to the church in our services yesterday.

Just when the Dallas Cowboys get me hopes up, they let me down. I am tempering my expectations for the rest of the season.

What can I say about the Jacksonville Jaguars? Two straight bad loses. But I predict an upset in Seattle! Who’s with me?

My USC Trojans bounced back this week with a big win over. The hot seat Lane Kiffin is in cooled off a little with that win.

Johnny “Football” Manziel made a believer out of my this weekend. Alabama won. But the Manziel made it a game right to the end.

I really thought Canelo Alverez would give Floyd Mayweather a fight. I even refused to pick a winning, thinking it would be that close. Oh, well. Mayweather put on a boxing clinic for a majority decision. What was that third judging watching, calling the fight a 114-114 draw?

How was your Sunday? How did your teams do this weekend?

    The Most Important Commandment

And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this:‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” And the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that he is one, and there is no other besides him. And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And after that no one dared to ask him any more questions. – Mark 12:28-34 Armies win…
