We have a great day of worship today at Shiloh.
We celebrated the Lord’s Table today in both of our morning services.
As always, I am grateful for the guests who joined us in worship.
“You Are My Strength.” Aborted. Twice. We’ll get it, sooner or later.
We also prayed for our group of our youth who are going on a short-term missions trip this week, led by our youth pastor. My two oldest are also participating. They have arrived to their destination safely. We are praying they have a safe, fruitful, and life-changing week.
I cheated today. I am preaching on the “I Am” statements of Jesus on Wednesday nights. I preached this morning the message I would have preached this Wednesday night.
I entitled my message on John 14:5-6, “How to Get to God.”
This sixth “I Am” statement is the most controversial of them all.
If claiming Jesus is the only way to God makes one intolerant, Jesus is intolerant. He was the first to make that claim!
I can answer the question of how to get to God in five words: Jesus only and only Jesus.
There are four reasons why we should embrace the Christianity’s claim that Jesus is the only way to God:
- It is an exclusive claim.
- It is a credible claim.
- It is a logical claim.
- It is a generous claim.
Praise God for those who were added to the church today.
The NBA free agency officially began today. Should be interesting to see where players like D. Williams, R. Allen, S. Nash, and D. Howard end up.
I do not know how I feel about the rumor that the Miami Heat are after Ray Allen.
There was some big soccer tournament that ended this weekend. That’s all I know.
I am looking forward to the second week of the Wimbledon tournament.
Tiger Woods won his third even of the year today, the only golfer to do so. With this win, Tiger passes Jack Nicklaus with 74 career PGA wins. Who says Tiger is not back?
Don’t give up. Football season is on the way!
