Some 15 years ago, I was in a conversation with leaders of the church I served in Los Angeles about music. Someone asked who would I pick if I could hire anyone I wanted to lead music at the church. My answer was simple. Joe Pace, who directed and produced the Colorado Mass Choir.
Several years ago, when I began to search for a new music director at the church I currently serve in Jacksonville, Joe Pace joined our ministry team. Pace’s skill, wisdom, maturity, leadership, and experience have been richly enhanced the music department of our congregation.
Last year, Joe Pace recorded and produced a new CD featuring the Shiloh Church Choir CD. I am excited that this CD is now available: Joe Pace Presents: H.B. Charles Jr. and the Shiloh Church Choir.
I love music. In particular, I love Gospel Music. Much of the contemporary Gospel Music, however, is not the music that I grew to love in my youth. One of my concerns is that a lot of the music produced these days is not for the church. I am excited that Joe Pace and the Shiloh Church Choir has produced a project that is targeted at the church, steeped in sound doctrine, and performed with musical excellence.
The project features new arrangements of classic hymns. Joe Pace has written several new pieces that are featured on the project. Featured guest artists – Kathy Taylor, Dave Ward, and Lucy Hill – join the choir to enhance selected songs. And I was privileged to write and lead a couple of the numbers on the project.
Of course, I am biased about this CD. But I am truly grateful that for this project. It is good music, biblical lyrics, and worship oriented. It is the kind of music I enjoy listening to, music that inspires me to worship God, trust Christ more, and serve the Lord more faithfully.
Please pray that the Lord would be pleased to use this project to bless many. Pick up a copy wherever you buy or listen to music.
To God alone be the glory!
