Over the past several years, I have been informally making a list of prominent African-American pastors who mark their introduction to expository preachers to being exposed to the preaching ministry of Dr. A. Louis Patterson Jr. It is now a long list. Dr. Patterson is truly the "Godfather" of expository preaching among African-Americans.
