  • It was another great day at the Shiloh Church. God be praised!

Quick testimony: I love my church!

We baptized seven people today. Praise God!

During our 8 AM service, the choir did, “He’s Worthy,” recorded by Jonathan Greer in the 80s. Great song!

Glad and grateful for all of our guests today.

    J. Moss was our guest soloist at 10:15. He did “Praise on the Inside” and “Good and Bad,” from his new CD. What a blessing!

I made the big mistake of trying to sing after J. Moss. What was I thinking?

I continued in my study of 1 John with a message on 1 John 2:28-29. I simply called it, “Abiding in Christ.”

I argued that true Christians are people who both come to Jesus and abide in Jesus.

I explored this call to abide in Christ by asking three questions of the text:

    I. What does abiding in Christ mean? (2:28a)

II. Why does abiding in Christ matter? (2:28b)

III. How is abiding in Christ manifested? (2:29)

These two verses are transitional and difficult to outline. I think I read the text well. But the sermon cold have been better. I thank God fro his grace.

I am excited to be back in 1 John. I look forward to the weeks to come. I pray God uses this study to sanctify and strengthen the stains at Shiloh.

Praise God for those who were saved and added to the church today!

I plan to preach next Sunday from 1 John 3:1-3.

Our 10:14 service today was recorded to broadcast on the local TBN network soon. I will let you know when it airs.

The London Olympics ended today. What a great two weeks of sports! America won. 46 Gold. 104 total medal. USA! USA! USA!

USA Basketball defeated Spain 107-100 today to win the Gold Medal.

This will be the final Olympics for Kobe Bryant and Coach K. Hope Coach K changes his mind. Won’t miss Kobe. We have LeBron James. Long live the King!

Tiger Woods collapses again in the final round of a Major tournament.

I think the baseball season is still going on. Isn’t it?

The Miami Dolphins cut Chad Johnson today after he was arrested this weekend for domestic abuse. Wow.

Did you know the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the world champion New York Giants Friday night, 32-31. I know it just the preseason. But every win counts!

The Dallas Cowboys will defeat the the Oakland Raiders tomorrow night. I think this is going to be our year? What do you think?
