We had quite of few guests in worship today. Way cool.
Our chorale, Forgiven, prepared to sing “Reach Out And Touch Him,” a song from the new Marvin Winans CD, led by Bishop Paul Morton. I was to sing the lead. But I chickened out during the middle of the 8 AM service. Fail.
I couldn’t wait to get to the pulpit to preach to my congregation today. My people acted like this missed me back! Way cool.
I preached from “Living with Heavenly Priorities” from Colossians 3:1-4.
I argued that Jesus can and will change your life, if you live with heavenly priorities.
I. The requirements of living with heavenly priorities (3:1-2)
A. Seek the things that are above (v. 1)
B. Set your mind on things above (v. 2)
II. The reasons for living with heavenly priorities (3:3-4)
A. The death of your past life (v. 3a)
B. The security of your new position (v. 3b)
C. The hope of your future glory (v. 4)
Praise God for those who were saved and added to the church today!

The final round of the British Open was spectacular! Ernie Els scored an improbable win, thanks to Adam Scott’s late-round collapse. Tiger struggled at the end, as well.
The Joe Paterno statue was removed from the Penn state campus today. School president, Rodney Erickson, explained that the statue “has become a source of division and an obstacle to healing.”
It will be interesting to see what punishment the NCAA hands down to Penn State tomorrow.

Last night, Adrien Broner knocked-out Vicente Escobedo to remain undefeated. However, Broner lost his title by intentionally not making weight for the fight. As far as I am concerned, this was a tarnished victory.
The opening of “The Dark Knight Rises” was marred by a mass shooting at a movie theater in Aurora, CO. We are praying for the accused perpetrator, James E. Holmes, and all of the victims of this great tragedy.
Vacation Bible School starts at the Shiloh Church tomorrow. Pray for the workers who will serve our children this week. And pray that these days will lead our children to grow as children grew (Luke 2:52).
